The New England Patriots need to enhance their childcare and family support to improve as a team

A recent report came out from The NFL Players Association where the players rate the New England Patriots an F- when it comes to treatment of families.

This is not the first time this has happened. In the 2023 survey ” New England was ranked 21st in the “Support of Players’ Families” category, with the lack of day care and a family room at Gillette Stadium the main points of criticism.”

In this year’s survey players say this aboutThe Patriots

  • "They are one of 12 teams that do not provide a family room during games."

  • "They are one of seven teams that do not provide daycare support for players’ children on gameday"

  • "They are one of only four teams that do not offer either a family room or daycare" source: https://x.com/bymarkdaniels/status/1762873455458812270?s=46

The New England Patriots are expected to over 82 million dollars in Salary Cap space this offseason to sign players according to Pats Pulpit:  Patriots projected to have over $82 million available after NFL sets salary cap - Pats Pulpit

This stands as one of the league's most substantial cap spaces, providing ample opportunity for the Patriots to sign players. As free agents deliberate on their choice of teams, undoubtedly, they will weigh various factors, including the support available for their children and families.

To enhance their appeal to free agents and provide vital support to current players with families, the New England Patriots should prioritize investments in childcare facilities and family assistance. Not only would this contribute to team improvement, but it also aligns with doing what is right for the well-being of the children involved.
