Senator Patty Murray Introduces "Coronavirus Child Care and Education Relief Act"
Earlier this week, The United States House of Representatives led by Congresswomen Katherine Clark passed 2 pieces of legislation aimed at supporting the early childhood education and care industry The ”Child care Is Essential Act” and “Child Care for Economic Recovery Act” with all Democrats voting for the bills and 18 Republicans voting for the first bill and 20 Republicans voting for the second.
However, there is still a long way to get to the bills passed in the senate. In that effort, Senator Patty Murray has combined those bills with legislation aimed at supporting K-12 to be able to safety reopen into a bigger bill called "Coronavirus Child Care and Education Relief Act".
