Rhode Island Announces Temporary Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Rate Enhancements For Licensed Child Care Programs To Assist With Reopening

Rhode Island recently announced that early childhood centers who care for children whose families receive assistance in paying for early education and care through the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), will get enhanced payment rates which you can see below:

They give more context to these new policies writing the following:

 “*For providers who reopen, CCAP services will be reimbursed based on enrollment and not attendance. Providers who do not reopen and are not serving CCAP children will not be reimbursed for CCAP services. Providers will temporarily be able to maintain their Pre-COVID enrollment capacity upon reopening and should only disenroll CCAP families who either lose their eligibility or decide to enroll with a new CCAP provider.

*CCAP Providers will see a temporary rate enhancement to support reopening costs.”
The state of Rhode Island also released a power point and webinar video about the process of reopening child care.
